CREDENTIALS

Since commencing her studies with the Building Biology Institute (BBI, USA) in 2021, Zara D’Cotta has undertaken extensive specialist training in healthy home design, building materials, and electromagnetic radiation.

Zara completed the Building Biology New Build Consultant (BBNC) program in 2022.

In 2025, she completed the Electromagnetic Radiation Specialist (EMRS) certification pathway, the only program of its kind globally to combine advanced technical training with intensive, mentored applied project work.

This training included:

  • Two week-long, hands-on intensive EMRS training programs in the United States (2023 and 2024).

  • One-to-one mentoring throughout her final project as part of her certification process.

  • Over 100 hours dedicated to her final EMRS project alone, including pre-assessment planning, field measurement (gathered during 15 hours of in-home testing), analysis, interpretation, and documentation

  • A comprehensive 40-page final report detailing findings, risks, and practical recommendations

Zara’s EMRS training has been delivered under the mentorship of internationally recognised leaders in electromagnetic radiation education, testing and mitigation, including electrical engineers and electricians with decades of applied experience.

Prior to her U.S.-based training, Zara also completed several hundred hours of study in Australia focused on healthy building materials, building biology principles, and healthier home design and construction.
